Disclaimers

This page is a plain-English statement of what we are and are not responsible for. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy.

The short version
  • Mentors are volunteers. They are not our employees and they are not acting as professionals.
  • Nothing here is legal, financial, medical, immigration or admissions advice.
  • Rules, fees, deadlines and visa requirements change. Always check the official source.
  • We do not guarantee an offer, a scholarship, a grade or a job.
  • Group chats on WhatsApp and Telegram are run by volunteers, not by us.

1. Who this applies to

This applies to everyone who uses the Vision Pathfinders website, the app, the community room, the direct messages and the chapter events. Using any of them means you accept this page along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. We are not professional advisers

Conversations on this platform, including conversations with mentors marked on the platform, are general guidance between people. They are not, and must not be treated as, legal, medical, psychological, financial, tax, immigration or admissions advice.

If you need advice about a visa application, a contract, a health condition, money or a legal dispute, speak to somebody qualified and regulated to give it. Where we point at official services, we do so because they are the authority, not because we are.

3. Mentors are volunteers

Mentors sign up because they want to help, and their applications are reviewed by a person before they are listed. That review is not a background check, an identity verification, a DBS or criminal record check, or an accreditation of any kind.

Mentors are not employees, agents or representatives of Vision Pathfinders, and their views are their own. We cannot promise that a mentor will reply, will keep replying, or will be the right match for you. We can remove any mentor from the platform if there is a problem, and we act on reports.

4. University, admission and visa information changes

Course lists, entry requirements, tuition fees, scholarship deadlines, application portals and visa rules change frequently and differ by institution, country and year of entry. Anything on this site, in the app or in a message from another member may be out of date, incomplete or specific to somebody else’s situation.

Before you rely on any of it, confirm it with the university, the relevant admissions body, or the government department that issues the visa. Where a deadline or fee decides something important, treat the official site as the only source that counts.

5. Events and chapters

Events listed on the site are organised by chapters, mentors or partner organisations. Details such as time, venue, cost and speakers can change or be cancelled, sometimes at short notice. Confirm with the organiser before you travel, and use your own judgement about attending anything in person.

Chapters are run by members in their own cities. They operate under our community rules, but day-to-day decisions about their events are theirs.

6. Community groups on WhatsApp and Telegram

Our WhatsApp community and Telegram group are off-platform tools with their own terms, privacy policies and moderation. The people who administer those groups are volunteers. We do not control what is posted there, cannot remove content on those platforms, and are not responsible for material or files other members share in them.

Treat any link or file sent in a group chat with the same caution you would apply to a message from a stranger, because that is what it is.

7. What members post and send

Profiles, forum threads, messages, event listings and story submissions are written by members. We moderate reported content, but we do not fact-check or endorse what members say, and we do not verify claims about qualifications, employers, universities or results.

If somebody on the platform misrepresents themselves, asks you for money, or makes you uncomfortable, report it. Nothing on this platform is a reason to send money or identity documents to another member. We will never ask you to do that.

8. No guarantee of outcomes

Vision Pathfinders is a community, not an agency. We do not guarantee admission, a scholarship, funding, a placement, an internship, a job, a grade or a visa outcome, and we do not refund anything on the basis of an outcome. What we offer is access to people and a place to ask.

9. Availability and accuracy of the service

The platform is provided as it is. It can go down, lose features temporarily, or change. We try to keep information on the site accurate and current, but we make no warranty that it is complete or error free, and we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of it.

Nothing in this page limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

10. Links to other sites

We link to universities, government pages, scholarship portals, social platforms and tools we do not own. Those links are for convenience. Their content, security and privacy practices are theirs, not ours.

11. Reporting something

To report harassment, impersonation, a mentor or member behaving badly, a fake listing, or a safety concern, message an admin in the app or email support@visionpathfinders.org.uk. For anything involving a child or an immediate risk to someone’s safety, contact the emergency services in your country first.

This page was last reviewed when it was published and should be reviewed again any time the platform adds a new way for members to interact.
